There’s no doubt that professional, creative, and well-designed logos are very crucial to build a successful business, brand, website, or anything else. For example, if you visit a website, and you find its logo to be particularly ugly and unprofessional, will you trust it?

The answer is NO because that proves these people are not serious about what they’re doing. Yet, sometimes it can be expensive to hire a professional designer who can create something that satisfies you.

Therefore, you must get the designer inside you out, do the work and save some good money. But, where do you start? Or in another way, what is the best software for creating logos?

This article will answer your questions, but first, let us clarify some important things.

Who Is This Article For?

I’m not going to B.S. you, and throw some options here and there, and provide you no value.

I have to give some real help to the reader, you. Therefore, I thought to myself, why would anyone search for the best software for creating logos? Or in a better way, who is this article really for? And the answers I found are:

  • You want to be a professional logo designer, which means you have no problem with setting down for months and learning how to do it the hard way using some professional logo design software.
  • OR, you’re not interested in becoming a pro logo designer, you just want a design tool that can do the work for you, and save you some money (No hiring a pro), and time (No learning for months).

Genuinely, I don’t see any other situations (if I’m wrong, please correct me in the comments section).

As a result, this article has been written with only these two scenarios in mind.

1) Adobe IllustratorThe Best Software for Creating Logos [For Professionals]

If you asked any expert designer about the best software for creating and designing logos, they would say Adobe Illustrator without hesitation.

Adobe Illustrator is a popular graphics software for creating & editing vector graphics, meaning more high-quality and scalable pictures, making it the perfect choice for creating impressive logos which can be scaled up and down infinitely without losing quality.

Adobe Illustrator contains a range of tools for creating vector graphics, such as logos, illustrations, typography, cartoons, and so on.

Adobe Illustrator runs on Mac & Windows machines and gives you a free trial that includes the full version of Illustrator with the last updates and features for 7 days starting from the time you install the software.

If you want to become a professional logo designer, and you are seeking a graphic design software program to get started, Adobe Illustrator is the way to go.

2) CanvaThe Best Software for Creating Logos [For Occasional Use]

Canva is my favorite design tool that I have been using for so long, and let me tell you, it’s getting better day after day.

Canva is an online graphic design tool that helps you create logos, business cards, social media designs, infographics, newsletters, and more.

Canva is an easy-to-use tool for everyone, it has a drag-and-drop editor by which you can create nice logos within a few minutes. Plus, what I admire about Canva is the various templates that you can choose from, so if you don’t have any design creativity or experience, don’t worry because Canva got your back.

Canva is an online tool, but it has a desktop app for Windows & Mac, and a mobile app for Android & iOS.

As a conclusion, if you’re not interested in becoming a professional logo designer, and you’re simply searching for a way to create decent logos with less work at a lower cost, as well as perhaps perform some basic design work here and there, I recommend Canva, which I use myself.

Without any previous expertise in logo design, I created this logo using Canva.

Canva is available in three plans:

  • Free at $0.00
  • Pro at $12.99/month or $119.99/year

2-3) Cons

  • The desktop app is not a great option for old and slow computers.
  • No internet connection = No Canva.
  • It would be great if you could filter the images and get the free ones only.
  • The free images can disappoint you sometimes (not finding a good one).

Bottom Line

I didn’t want to do like other blogs and give you a bunch of tools without any context, that’s why I only covered two design software for creating logos, Adobe Illustrator & Canva which I chose based on real-life context.

If you have any comments on that, please feel free to write them down in the comment section, and I will update this article if needed.
